Install SlothMate, understand what it does (and does not) provide, and choose a source type.

Objective

Open SlothMate for the first time and pick the right kind of source for what you already own.

Before you start

  • A Mac running macOS 13 or later.
  • A source you are authorized to use: your own IPTV or Xtream account, an M3U playlist link or file, or a folder of personal media.

Steps

  1. Install and open SlothMate

    SlothMate is coming to the Mac App Store. Once installed, open it like any Mac app. It runs in the macOS App Sandbox and stores its working data on your Mac.

  2. Read the one rule

    SlothMate is a player and organizer only. It provides no channels, movies, series, playlists, guide data, or subscriptions, and it is not affiliated with any provider. Add only sources and files you own or are legally authorized to access.

  3. Choose a source type

    The Start screen offers four cards: Xtream Codes (an account with a server, username, and password), M3U Link (a playlist URL), M3U File (a playlist file on your Mac), and My Media (a folder or drive of your own videos, music, and photos). Each becomes a profile you can return to from the Welcome Back screen.

  4. Try the Demo first if you like

    The Demo is a fictional, session-only workspace with sample channels, movies, and series. Nothing you do there is saved, and it plays no real content. It exists so you can see how SlothMate organizes a library before connecting your own.

Expected result

You are on the Welcome Back screen with at least one saved source, or in the Demo exploring the layout.

Privacy and safety notes

SlothMate provides no channels, playlists, or guide data. Whatever appears after you connect comes from the source you configured, and account questions (expiry, renewals, missing channels) belong to that provider.
Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Support links sit under the source cards. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are also bundled in the app under About & Legal and readable offline, alongside the support contact details.
